Sexuality and Relationships

Image of different sexualitiesSexual health is for everyone. Our Sexual Health Program promotes healthy sexuality, healthy relationships and awareness about sexuality throughout life. Sexuality plays a part in who you are and how you express yourself. Everyone is unique, including our sexual thoughts, attractions and values.

It is important to know what you want for yourself and what you want in a relationship.

Deciding whether to have sex is also a big decision. Sometimes talking with someone can help. You can confidentially speak with a Public Health Nurse by calling the Sexual Health Clinic.

Consent

Consent is permission for something to happen or an agreement to do something.

Sexual consent is about a person’s right to make their own choice about sexual activity. Consent needs respect and communication. Consent is an important concept for children to learn about from an early age. It can lead to better relationships with family, friends, peers and eventually romantic partners.

2SLGBTQIA+

2SLGBTQIA+ health is also important to us. Our sexual health services are inclusive and 2SLGBTQIA+.  positive.

If you require support or counselling, our Public Health Nurses will connect you with resources in the community. Some of the community programs available are listed in the External Links section.
