Ontario Expands Booster Eligibilty to those 50+

(December 2, 2021) CK Residents can book now for appointments December 13, 2021 and beyond. Must be at least 168 days from second dose.

Ontario has officially released details on providing COVID-19 booster doses for all Ontarians within 6-8 months of receiving their second dose. The current plan involves a gradual rollout of eligibility to specific sectors and groups over the coming months. This includes all individuals becoming eligible over the next 24 weeks.

Either Moderna or Pfizer vaccines may be used as a third or booster dose (regardless of which COVID-19 vaccine was used in the primary series).

When do I get my booster?

Group Interval
Immune compromising conditions 8 weeks after second dose
Adults 50+168 days or 24 weeks after second dose
Healthcare workers 168 days or 24 weeks after second dose
First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Adults168 days or 24 weeks after second dose
Individuals who received a viral vector vaccine168 days or 24 weeks after second dose

Booster doses are available at CK Public Health Clinics and participating pharmacy locations.
