    At CK Public Health, we are here to support you and our community in becoming smoke-free. We've made a list of resources to help you find the best option for you. 



    Counselling

    An empathetic female counselor listens as a vulnerable patient shares about a difficult situation.

    Online Support

    SmokersHelpline.ca is a 24/7 support service to help you quit smoking or vaping and stay smoke-free. By signing up, you get access to: 

    • A personal Quit Plan tool to guide your quitting journey 
    • A personal quit calculator to track money saved and health progress 
    • A community of others who are quitting, plus expert Quit Coaches 
    • An email list with tips and motivation based on your quit date 
    • Easy sign-up for all Smokers' Helpline services

            Nicotine Replacement Therapy

            No Family Physician/Nurse Practitioner

            If you live in Chatham-Kent and don't have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, you can still get free nicotine patches and gum through CK Public Health's STOP program.  

            • CK STOP Program
              • The CK STOP program can provide up to 26 weeks of Nicotine Replacement Therapy to Chatham-Kent residents who do not have a primary care provider.

            • Stop on the Net 
              • The STOP on the Net online program is designed to help you quit smoking from home.
              • Get 10 weeks of free nicotine patches, gum, or lozenges mailed to you.

            Medication

            Broken cigarette and other nicotine cessation medications.

            Ontario Drug Benefit Card

            If you have an Ontario Drug Benefit Card, you might be able to get some quit-smoking medications like Champix or Zyban at a lower cost. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist to see if this option works for you. 

            Some pharmacists in Chatham-Kent can prescribe quit-smoking medications without a doctor's visit.
