CK Public Health has become aware of an uninspected unlicensed tattoo provider. This message is directed to people who have received a tattoo in the last six months from an unlicensed tattoo artist. Based on the information currently available, the tattoo services were likely provided in or near Bothwell.
Community members who have received a tattoo service at the above noted location are potentially at risk of contracting a bloodborne infection, including HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.
Individuals impacted by this notice are advised to contact CK Public Health at 519-355-1071 ext 2902 as soon as possible, as testing and/or treatment may be recommended. Individuals can also contact their primary health care provider.
When considering a tattoo service, residents are encouraged to confirm that the business is inspected by the local public health authority and compliant with infection prevention and control legislation and best practices. In Chatham-Kent, inspection results can be reviewed by visiting Check It CK.
