When CK Public Health’s mass vaccination clinic at the Bradley Centre opened its doors on Saturday, August 7, 2021, it was a milestone in more ways than one. It was the 100th clinic at the site. It was also our last clinic at the Bradley Centre.
Since the mass immunization clinic at the Bradley Centre began operation on February 23, 2021, the clinic and the people who brought it to life have played an important part in bringing vaccines to our community. Over the course of those 100 clinics, the vaccination team welcomed 61,517 individual people and distributed 106,617 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.
The saying that it “takes a village” could not be more true when it comes to the Bradley Clinic. Each person through the door and each vaccine administered is essential for getting us back to the things we’ve missed.
None of this would have been possible without the dedicated efforts of our vaccination team. By the numbers, our team consisted of:
- 140+ clinical staff, including practicing and retired nurses, paramedics, and pharmacy technicians;
- 174 volunteers from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance screening and directing clients;
- 60+ staff assisting in site support, including health promotors, public health inspectors, and administrative staff;
- 45 staff supporting housekeeping;
- 8 site leads; and
- 7 staff supporting IT.
Shifting our resources from the mass clinic will allow us to better use our resources as we continue to bring the vaccines to the community. Moving forward, CK Public Health, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Services and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, will be focusing on pop-up clinics throughout CK. For a frequently updated list of upcoming clinics, please see the website here. You can also get your vaccine at select local pharmacies and primary care providers.
To everyone who has helped along the way, we express our appreciation and thanks for your tireless commitment to helping keep people in our community safe and healthy. To everyone who has already received their vaccine, we thank you for helping to make our community a safer place. If you’re still deciding about getting the vaccine, please reach out to us with your questions. You can call CK Public Health 519.355.1071 x 1900 or speak to your health care provider. We’re here to help.
