Good News for Smoke-Free Housing!

The Ontario Ministry of Housing has completed the process of developing a Standard Lease, which includes a section that invites landlords and tenants to agree to a smoking policy. This will make it much easier for them to agree to smoke-free policies and over-time will greatly reduce exposure to second-hand smoke.

The use of the new standard lease will become mandatory for most residential leases on or after April 30, 2018.
