5th Annual Workplace Wellness Recognition

Image made up of multiple words, workplace wellness is the centre, with other positive values around it such as respect and equity

On average we spend seven to ten hours per day at work. Imagine the health impact workplaces have on their community! Employers reap the benefits of a healthy workforce through reduced absenteeism and improved productivity. Workplace Wellness programs give employees the tools they need to live healthy lives at work, at home and in their community.

Chatham-Kent employers looking for ways to develop strong links between health, safety, and wellness initiatives are invited to send their leaders and Workplace Wellness committee members to the 5th Annual Workplace Wellness Recognition Workshop. This FREE half-day workshop will take place on Tuesday October 29, 2019 at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre. Hear from employers Family Centre (Wallaceburg), Scribendi, Children’s Treatment Centre, Chatham-Kent Health Alliance and KSR Dresden Industrial about their trials and triumphs of implementing and maintaining their workplace wellness programs.

This workshop will also focus on mental health and its importance when looking to reduce the number of short and long term disability claims. (An annual cost estimated at $51 billion dollars, nationally).

Our keynote speaker Brian Knowler is back by popular demand. A police officer, lawyer and author will share his firsthand experience with post-traumatic stress, mental health, recovery, and leadership. Through firsthand experience Knowler shares his observations on how leaders in a workplace can create a stronger more resilient environment with higher morale, productively and attendance.

Other presentations include C-K Public Health Unit: Social Media, Expanding your Workforce, and Canadian Mental Health Association. Throughout the morning there will be opportunities for networking with other workplaces, the presenters, public health staff regarding community programs, St. Johns Therapy Dogs and Workplace Safety and Prevention Services. Take this opportunity to invest in the wellbeing and performance of your employees to help build a thriving and productive workforce. Advanced registration is required.
