Dresden Hot Spot – CK Recreation

With the goal of getting ‘more kids, more active, more often’, the Dresden Community HotSpot project aims to create an outdoor community hub for summer recreation programming in Dresden. Drawing from surrounding communities such as Wallaceburg, Thamesville and Bothwell, this FREE, community centred program will run for 8 weeks in the summer and focus on physical literacy development through active play.

A.L.L. For Kids Targeted Client Program – A.L.L. For Kids

The A.L.L. For Kids Targeted program aims to remove barriers and provide children of low-income families in Chatham-Kent with the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities at no-cost. Additionally, the program offers resources and support for parents who are new to the activity application process and may not know what extra-curricular activities are available for their child in Chatham-Kent.

Equal Play In CK – Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent

Equal Play In CK strives to work with community partners to develop inclusive recreation opportunities for children of all abilities by building partnerships with community programs, facilitating capacity building and education for improved understanding of accessibility, building supportive and encouraging environments, and serving as a resource of information and services for parents of children with special needs.

Go Girls! and Game On! – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Chatham Kent

Go Girls! and Game On! are fun, interactive, and innovative group programs for females and males 9 – 14 years of age. These programs focus on teaching the importance of Healthy Bodies and Healthy Minds, and have a core goal of empowering youth with the skills needed to incorporate unstructured physical activity into their healthy, day to day lives!

Equipment For All – Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent

Equipment for All provides adapted recreation equipment to the Children’s Treatment Centre, allowing children with special needs to participate in quality recreation programs. The Centre’s Adapted Recreation programs not only help build a more inclusive community here in Chatham-Kent, but they also help to develop recreation safety and awareness, physical activity, transition skills, and communication and social skills for all ages.

So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for these amazing opportunities RUN. JUMP. PLAY. EVERY DAY.
