Hepatitis Poster

For the world’s eighth biggest killer, viral hepatitis is remarkably neglected.

Viral hepatitis kills 1.5 million people each year, that’s as many as HIV/AIDS. Viral hepatitis is also the leading cause of liver cancer, which is the second biggest cancer killer.

Despite these statistics hepatitis largely remains ignored and does not receive the same level of awareness or political priority as it should. Through better awareness, prevention, care, support and access to treatment, we have a real chance of beating hepatitis.

World Hepatitis Day is an annual event held every year on July 28th that provides international focus for patient groups and people living with viral hepatitis. It is an opportunity to influence real change in disease prevention and access to testing and treatment.
