There are three different signs you may see at the beach.
Advisory
It reminds you that beach water quality can change quickly depending on the weather conditions. Rainy and/or windy conditions cause increased levels of bacteria in the water, it tells you that the beach is safe to
swim at unless it has been rainy or windy in the last 24 hours.
Warning
Informs you that it is unsafe to swim at the beach since the 5 year historical water sample results show consistent high levels of bacteria in the water. Swimming in these waters must be avoided.
Closed
Tells you the beach is unsafe. You must not enter the beach or the water when you see a closed sign.
Before swimming always be aware of recent weather and read the signs posted on the beach.
