Stay Cool Chatham-Kent

Posted by: DebO    Tags:      Posted date:  June 21, 2012  |  Comment

Extreme heat affects everyone. Children, the elderly, people who are exercising and playing sports outside, and people who work outdoors may be more at risk.

Extreme heat increases the chance of getting sick from illnesses like heat stroke, heat exhaustion, fainting, edema, rash, and cramps.

When a heat alert is called you need to:

  • drink lots of water
  • spend less time doing things outside
  • stay inside or go to place that has air conditioning to stay cool

The Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit (CKPHU) has a list of places where you can go like community centres, pools, and splash pads.

You can find this information and much more at our website: Stay Cool Chatham-Kent Website
