Finding Balance in Ridgetown

Women in the Ridgetown area are invited to register for Finding Balance at the Ridgetown and Area Adult Activity Centre during June.
Join us Wednesday mornings from June 1 – June 29th and learn to Keep Active, Check your Medications, Watch your Step and Eat Right.  This four week program is organized by Chatham-Kent VON, Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres and the Chatham-Kent Public Health Unit to raise awareness and educate older adults on ways to avoid a fall.  It is based on Finding Balance, Alberta Centre for Injury Control and sponsored by the Women’s Leadership Council, United Way of Chatham-Kent.

Did you know women are three times more likely to be hospitalized from a fall than men?
Research tells us most falls occur in the home while doing every day activities.

It’s a fact:  Fall related hospitalizations among older adults living in Chatham-Kent are higher than the rest of Ontario!  What can happen in just one minute can greatly impact  your life.

Drop by the Centre and have some fun while learning ways you can decrease your risk of falling.  Registration is required.  Please call 519-674-5126 to secure your spot.
